The AST Genetics pilot variety, AST 530, continues to show strong performance in both grain and fiber university comparative yield trials across the country. A link to the MHRC comparative yield trials can be found here.
The AST 530 variety of industrial hemp was submitted for USDA Plant Variety Protection in January of 2025.
The AST 530 was trialed at Kansas State University, the University of Illinois, University of Wisconsin, Michigan State University, Purdue University, The University of Kentucky and Pennsylvania State University.
AST Genetics completed SARE trials and research utilizing the AST 530 variety. Please navigate to the 2024 SARE project page for more information.
The 2023 USDA National Hemp Report shows strong market growth in both fiber and grain production and can be downloaded here.

AST Genetics is now taking AST 530 seed orders for the 2027 season. Please complete the Contact Us form with some general information about your operation and the quantity of seed you would be interested in purchasing. The minimum order quantity is 2500 lbs.
